The decimated euchalons are off limits in the Fraser so how do you identify the difference between euchalons, pikeminnows, and white fish?

The reason I ask is for sturgeon fishing bait. I've saw people using sculpin a d white fish for bait but wonder how effective it is compared to oolies (commercially of course). Also, does trout guts or trout itself work?

Hmmm. I just started Dino fishing.  Only caught one, and it was with Lamprey Eel. I gather they go for what is in the river at the time.  Small Northern Pikeminnow, Peamouth Chub, White Fish, all may work.  Just cut the heads and fins and giver a go. Not sure about sculpins as they have the stingers and the Dino's might not like that??

Sculpins will work, they were chomping on our eulies one day so we thought we'd give them a try and hooked into a nice 5 footer in the lower

Seems like a taboo using trout for bait but they are easy to catch (at times) in the local lakes and could probably make 2-4 pieces of bait each. Trout are good eating too but depending on which lakes they come from..
I like to save money when possible so course fish and extra left over trout are top choice baits if they are productive. I caught my first Dino on an Ollie in the lower. Only 2.5 ft but thick around the gut. Will prob stick to oolies eels and worms for now. Thanks again!
