Chilliwack River, September 29th 2011

Grooooan...

Well another 430am wakeup to drive from Richmond to the Valley, same as a few days ago, TONNES of pinks but maybe 1-5% of them biting, getting more coloured now too. Got into 1 doe, some guys were float fishing and accidentally fowl hooking pinks, they were letting 'em go for sure but if you see this maybe politely mention to shorten their leader, an older guy was giving cupcakes to the younger guys and telling them to do this, good stuff  :)

Lower Vedder was nice looking, vis at almost 4 feet, more in a few areas. Lots of guys out, saw a couple ho's pulled in all day so pretty slow.

Upper was moving pretty good, also busy  :( , no coho being caught at all in the area that I was in but I heard reports of a few coho here and there but overall very slow. I guess its called fishing not catching.

Need to get some sleep on these days off, looking forward to reports from Stave to save on gas and rest time... anyone hear of any chum or ho's moving into that system?

I can't offer much but I did stop by the Stave on my drive home from work for a brief look before heading to Rolley to practice some fly casting with some freshly stocked fish. There were maybe 7 anglers in total, with a couple vehicles also parked in the Tow Away zone on the west side. Nobody hooked into anything while I was there, but they are surely trickling in. Seems more recreational time than fishing right now, but I'd rather be there now than when the madhouse begins.

Agreed, specially with the new parking rules, there is NO WHERE to park.

The whole westside even above the dam has the signs on it. As the rule becomes more enforced, I'm sure the other side will find itself full of cars and eventually new enforcement. Soon the only parking will be in the gated area... nothing worse than a gate to basically dictate when you can start and finish your outing.

Haha, how about a topic about "how to supress the sound of the gongs ringing on the vedder"
