New regulation changes
« on: September 06, 2011, 01:06:48 AM »

Just saw Rodney update on Fb. There has been some regulation changes. http://www-ops2.pac.dfo-mpo.gc.ca/xnet/content/fns/index.cfm?pg=view_notice&lang=en&DOC_ID=135746&ID=recreational.
It says anglers are requested to use angling methods that do not catch coho.
I thought of fly fishing and gear fishing with spoon/spinner/wool/jig.
But I thought coho bite those as well.
How am I gonna be able to fish at veddar?  :(

These changes only apply to the Fraser River for September and part of October. You can still freely fish for coho salmon on the Vedder River.

-so.... you get to a run and start catching coho....so.... you stop fishing that area until they move... or you change the method you were using that was catching them.
-it is different in each situation... if you have traveled to an area and its your only day off and you really want to fish it be prepared with some different gear if you intend to stay and fish the area.
--Or in my case just be prepared and try to catch coho... that way for sure you won't.

Ya it is kinda goofy of them to say say to use methods that won't catch coho when coho will go after anything those other species will .
