In our adventures boating about...in the Richmond/Nwr/Ladner/UBC/Stanley Park/Howe Sound/ etc areas we went out by Canoe Pass but we did not venture too far towards the Straight as our finder showed 3ft/4ft/10ft/4ft...
Until a boater who knew the channel better ...then we followed his route ...then we knew how to get out to the Georgia Strait via Canoe Pass.
(once a boater & his female companion stopped by our boat nnear there & asked for a bit of fuel....he was nearly on E. Gave him enough to get where he was going....(boaters helping boaters) ..........

Heard that going out via the Middle Arm of the Fraser R is a NO - NO (many boaters have said DO NOT GO OUT THAT WAY)  as ya can hit a sandbar quite easily.... :o :o :o
Well to my surprize YESTERDAY at high tide seen 2 runabouts...18fter...16fter aprox...about 30 min apart go at a high speed in a west direction towords Georgia Strait...they went to the northside of Swishwash Island...after that I do not know what angle they took........
Do not know how safe it is ...but it sure would cut the distance going that way if your boat is mooraged near the airport area...

Have to keep any eye out for the float planes landing & taking off...& if they hit a sand bar ...they sure are close to a helping hand....the COAST GUARD BASE IS LOCATED at the SW end of Sea Island !!!! ;D

ANYONE KNOW IF THIS IS A SAFE ROUTE TO USE ???
