Ivey and Mosquito Lake, July 4th 2011
« on: July 05, 2011, 08:26:47 AM »

fished ivey from lake from 9 until 1 p.m. not much action until noon and then they started hitting hard on leech and dragonfly nymphs on a sinking line. lots of cruisers in 6 feet of crystal clear water. snapped off the fish of the day due to a poor leader\tippet connection. lazy.

after lunch hit mosquito lake.  darker water and more structure.  twice around the lake landed one fish. pumped his stomach and found it full of scuds smaller then i will ever be able to tie. not much bug activity on lake at all and not a person to be seen.

is there any point in tying one up? they are so small, i can hardly manage to get my tippet through a size 20 let alone a 24.  i always knew scuds were a huge food source but never really fish them much. especially in that size and colour. i am heading back up in two days and going to give it a shot.
