« on: August 05, 2010, 09:39:22 PM »

hey guys just wondering if anyone's been on the chehalis fishing recently?
i'll be bringing my flyrod and my buddy will be using spinning tackle. going to be mostly targetting trout
i also have a gear rod for anything bigger but is there any reason to bring that right now?
thanks for your help

Should be some steelhead smolts around which I like to leave alone as they will be returning in a couple years as steelhead. Be careful out there as there is a lot of bear sign out there right now as well.

I was there a couple weeks back and the trout were nuts. They went after everything we tossed in the water. Floating flies worked awesome for me. We caught 30 or so in a couple hours, let them all go. Caught 3 over 12 inches too

wow strobes great reports, hopefully they're still doing the same thing. i plan on catch and release only as well.
i've never been to the river yet, would you mind giving me tips on where abouts to start on the river?
or where to park and figure it out?
thanks!
