West Vancouver, August 2nd & 3rd 2009
« on: August 04, 2009, 07:21:50 AM »

Checked out the action on Sunday and Monday. The Coho were really hard to keep on the hook Saturday and after loosing well over 20 fish, some right on the net, I gave up rattled. Did manage to land one both days. But the action had subsided Monday. It was like the most of the Coho had moved somewhere else. Managed to get a Sea Cucumber and a few kelp/rock combo's. Didn't see anyone else catching anything. The Sun was pretty intense so I left before it tanned my hide or I would have caught my limit. Worth going back though as the pinks will be showing up and the Coho are there.

Sundays catch. Mondays was same size. Biggest one lost was about 8lbs :(
Low tide in the morning kept me paddling.

Yup tried lures before never had much luck with them there. Had alot of people fishing from shore come see what I was using. But fishing a buzz from shore dosen't always work as well as jigging them.

I know what you mean, jigging buzzbs is ideal. Did you get as far as the pink towers past ambleside or just hang around the mouth...

When I was there last week the mouth was hot at the tide changes.

Closer to the mouth. Tide was going out pretty good. Next time I go will be on a higher tide with less of a change in it because of all the current. I bring binoculars and scout out where the fish are holding before launching.

Were you out there today?  I saw a pink kayak with someone buzzbombing by the "waste water" plant.  I was parked just watching from my truck during my lunch break.
