salt water limits

Im going on a salt water fishing trip with my wife and two kids one six and one three.How old do the kids need to be to keep their limits of fish?

You will need to get a free licence for them and the $6 salmon tag.

A 3 year old getting a limit (of salmon anyhow) in my books is questionable at best.  I have been told that as soon as a fish is hooked, it is then considered that fisher's catch.  In fact I saw a guy ticketed for passing his rod of 6+ times one sockeye season when he had his two socks on the beach and was trying for a spring.  That said, my 2 cents is that if your child isn't capable of at least reeling in the target species themselves (let alone casting etc) then they should not be retaining fish under their license.

On a side note, I heard a tackle shop owner tell a dad that yes he can just get a free license for his child but if a CO saw him even reeling in the rod, he would get a ticket. (So the equipment operator needs to be the license holder).
