Chehalis River
« on: June 11, 2009, 02:00:11 PM »

How is the Chehalis river this time of year with the spring freshet? High and dirty? Is it worth fishing right now?

She is hardly ever high and dirty, unless the sky is falling and it pours by the buckets. Even then she recovers in a day or two.

The Chilliwack is high and muddy, so I can only assume the Chehalis is looking the same. Anyone been there lately?

There are some recent pics of the canyon on this forum http://www.clubtread.com/sforum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=31021&#321918.  Looks pretty low and clear as usual.  I'll be heading up tomorrow to target some resident trout on the fly, but won't be expecting too much.

Thanks for the recent pictures which got me out there. I was out all day and didnt see anyone else on the river, did you get out?
Got into some deep wading, and shorted out my cell phone battery. Also could not use my truck until the car key battery dried out, which took a couple hours... Lots of stuff going on around there, and the grad partys were in full swing.

Sorry to hear about your phone, I nearly did the same thing myself :D.  I made it out yesterday and didn't see a soul as well.
