Chilliwack River, March 10th 2009
« on: March 12, 2009, 10:50:01 AM »

Headed out to the Chilliwack/Vedder about 7 AM.  Wind was blowing hard as I was driving thru Sumas Prairie.   Headed up to the pool just up from Allison, sun was out but the wind was bitter.  Using my new Luna reel which I had used about 6 or 7 times without a birds nest but got 4 in the first 1/2 hour in the wind and cold.   >:(   Left before I got frost bite and moved down to the pool across from Osbourne Rd.   Not much wind and the sun was great but no action so after 1 hour left there and headed down to Peach Rd.  At Peach sat on the tailgate and ate lunch in the sun and out of the wind.  ;D   Headed up river from Peach however, down at the river the wind was howling and my line was being pushed back at me not allowing it to get to the good water.    Tried to work the water for about 20 minutes and gave up.  Drove down to K/W bridge and headed down the dyke.  Got out of the car and just about instantly froze as the wind was fierce.  Using row bags and made it thru the day with only attaching one, how sad is that? Oh well off to Tim's for a donut and coffee and then the long drive back home.

Your experience echoes mine yesterday :-[   I was out there with a full ski mask and that helped but the wind factor was challenging to say the least.  Hopefully we will see warm weather soon.

The Canal always seem to get the worst of the wind. Definately windy sunday and monday, Almost not worth  making the trip, but you never know when youll get a hook up.
