Chehalis Nov.4

The Chehalis was high and brown at the One Way Bridge and there were very few anglers and no signs of fish.

Thanks for the heads up JBB! :) Looks like I'll hit the ol' reliable tomorrow instead.
Funny how your mind plays tricks on you as even though you properly have the "One Way Bridge" in your post I read it as the "On The Way Bridge" until going back to re-read after the other postings. ::)

I agree with ssab nik, although it's been around twenty years since I last fished any section of the Chehalis, heading into the canyon is definately NOT something you want to be doing alone. I'm not quite sure I'ld want to be trying climbing thru there anymore even with a couple of my buddies, none of us are in nearly as good shape as we were back then. But it was, probably/hopefully still is a beautiful area.

did it last week and the mountain goat in me had to kick in a few times, not fun, especially when i slipped with a fish on the end of the line. scary moment. I dont recomend it to anyone that isn't in good shape, doesnt' have good gripping boots and that doesn't wanna sweat like crazy.

We fished the canyon pools from the prison up to the falls steady in the 70's and  80's .  One spot around 7 mile we would 4 by4 in , We had cut a trail  in with power saws from the logging road to the river. One trip in,  a tree was hanging over the logging road, I climbed out about 3/4 ofthe way and my partner passed me up a power saw from his truck, I cut  the top out of the tree and it stood  back up, it was a bit of a thrill. If you have ever climbed into the falls pool my cousin fell down the last  chute to the river temporaily knocking himself out fortunatly he did'nt make it tothe river. Climbed down to the falls with ropes in the snow.  It was great fun  to be young and have no fear,  Fishing was'nt to bad either!

Since the river has changed so much and there is little water going past the hatchery channel. I was just wondering if it is still worth it trying down stream from the hatchery to the mouth at Harrison, or if it'd be better exploring downstream of the main river from the bridge.

Any genral info would be appreciated.
