Fishing in Cambell River
« on: July 08, 2007, 08:51:45 PM »

Hi everybody,

I am going to Cambell river is coming mid August for 3-5 days as my lady has a school training there. I thought I'd sneak out while she is busy with the training to do some river fishing. I was just wondering if anybody has any info on where to fish on the Cambell river, what setup to use, and what is running during that time. I'd appreciate any info.

Many thanks,

Fish at the mouth of the quinsam with a drift or fly set-up. I use a cut down dink float , 4 split shots, 6lb. leader, size 4 hook, and a small piece of pink/blue wool. You can also use flies. I use floating line with a fast sink tip. I do well with a small version of a popsicle in all pink 8).

Like Fish Freak said, you can also try the sandy pool. Best to fly fish there though as most anglers chuck feathers :).

I'm heading there july 24th-30th to fish for sea-run cutts and the odd pink in the river and pinks off the beach.

Good luck,
Coho Cody ;)
