coho jigs

Is drifting a jig effective for coho? I have done  some  fishing with jigs but have only caught chum. Maybe I need to change up my color combo.

Twitched/hopped jigs  are quite effective for coho.    If you are in the right water you can play with the fish sometimes and watch them hunt the thing down.

Haven't tried drifting them myself due to lack of correct gear.

Float fished jigs do well for Coho, I personally like blue sparkly jigs and one of my favorites is Olive/orange.
Of course purple/cerise will catch anything and that is a jig always worth trying.

One trick is to use a slip float and twitch the jig every few feet as you do your drag free drift.

Thanks for the tip. I bought one of your do it yourself packs and have had  alot of fun catching chum and pinks. I will try the colors you  suggested and see if I can get a coho on a jig this week.

Ive caught coho on BR jigs, its always good to try something they've not seen yet and its mess free

That is an interesting technique.
I think I will try this out on my next trip out as I still have a bunch of jigs left over from last steelhead season.
