springs in the chuck
« on: September 24, 2015, 05:46:37 PM »

a friend of mine wants to head out to the chuck
launching some where around the airport
ive never fished in this area and was wondering if it maybe too late in the season
a day in the boat is always a good day regardless
just wondering what to expect

thanks cnm

Launch in Ladner at captains cove, head out to Sandheads, This week was been the best fishing in years, multiple fish over 30lbs and lots in the 20's reported by many boats. Trying to get out again on sat.
Chovy's and spoons working for us at 60'-30' on the riggers in water 100'-300'
No need to stay in the cluster of boats.
If you need to launch by the air port ( McDonald beach)then go to T10
But sandheads is on fire now.

We got a 31, 28 and a 16 today using anchovies in teasers on shallow lines. Fishing is good out there right now!

We were fishing in 250-300 ft at sandheads. Fishing at 30 and 45 ft on the wire. I am a little sore today from fighting those fish! There was lots of sizzling, line peeling runs when fighting these brutes. At one point I thought I might have a seal because of all of the surface thrashing, tail-showing, and because I couldn't move him.

The wind kept me home today. Now I'm explaining to my understanding wife, why I need to go fishing tomorrow and miss family obligations.
Apparently I've said "it's the best fishing of the year"  numerous times this year

See you guys out there tomorrow

I wish ::)  ;D

It IS the best fishing of the year, but I have to flag for my daughter's soccer game ;D and we got a lot of meat yesterday (and my arms still hurt ;)).

Good luck canso; for those that can get out there, the fishing can be HOT  8)(just remember to bring the anchovies or herring).

well we headed for macdonald beach yesterday
got there around 9-30 only to find we had forgot
one vital piece of equipment the downriggers >:( :( :o
so after a lengthy delay we met up with the downriggers
in new west made our way back down the north arm
only to find the wind had picked up drastically
and it was boat after boat lined up coming back in
after talking to a few people we decided our little 17footer
was no match for this kinda wind and swells
so we stayed in the channel and looked around for a bit

then on the way home we took kent st very rough rd
ended up breaking the trailer frame rail port side right
behind the wheel so we had to jack the boat and put some
blocks of wood inbetween boat and axleto put the weight on the axle
then nursed it all the way back home to the ridge

all in all a fun day lol

maybe next weekend
