I suggest stopping in at the tackle shop in Salmon Arm - Westside Stores - they are an excellent source of info on the Shuswap.  Also check out http://www.reelfishingadventures.net/

Depending on the time of year you may have to go pretty deep to find anything.  The shuswap also has specific regulations regarding no bait, no barbs, and size of fish that can be retained.  In the spring, trolling a bucktail or leech on a fly line is popular.

April / May is best. Troll no more than 40 ft deep for Rainbows . Full sink #6 fly line 20 ft leader 10 lbs max . Fish all your line and 30 ft backing . largest dick nite spoons in chrome and brass these fish are close to shore  , Blind bay to Magna bay troll no more than 2 mph  . Lake trout apexes and 80 ft and more on a down rigger 80 ft back . If you dont catch fish its your fault  !
