Hi All,

I've been wanting to get into doing some sockeye fishing for quite some time now, but i find it very intimidating as the shores are lined with people, and i don't really know what i'm doing. I'm familiar with the flossing technique, even though i've never successfully caught a sockeye using it.

I have a 14" alum boat with a 9.9 and have access through a friend to a private boat launch on the harrison river and was hoping to be able to fish from my boat.

Can you successfully catch sockeye at this time of the year on the harrison river (below hwy 7 bridge of course)

What techniques do you use? Could i try float fishing? Bobber with a 2' lead and some krill or wool?

I'm curious as well.  I'm not into flossing either and also and have a small 14' tinny with a 15hp.

I have caught sockeye in the fall as bycatch using a dead-drifted float and a red jig.
I just don't know if they are aggressive this early in the season.

ive been catching them in the vedder dead drifting cured red prawns. Im sure you could get willing biters at the Harrison

Float Krill and they will hit it.

Krill is deadly for sockeye on the Harrison. If your a fly fisherman use chartreuse!!
