Fishing @ #2rd Pier March 29th
« on: March 30, 2005, 12:01:49 AM »

rained like cats and dogs today(29th).
and since the gloomy weather made me lazy.
i decided to skipped my morning class and go fishing instead. w/ my waterproof snow jacket and my new fishing rod.
the water clarity this morning @ Mcdonald Beach was 2ft below.
after parking, i headed to the large tree near the parking for shelter
for 2 hours, i was simply spin-casting my gibbs Croc(yellow) into the water with no bites.
The tide was perfect, and the water clarity was splendid. what the hac, i'm not fishing anything these days.....?!
later the after when the rain cleared out, me and my buddy decided to go to our routine spot, #2rd pier.
where there were already 3 anglers fishing on the lower deck looking at us when we approaced.
their tackles are the Bottom Fishing T-BARS with fresh shrimps.
one of the guy actually caught a Large Starry Sole. which suprised me since he a huge 12' heavy duty rod.
Then i quickly switched tackle to counter-attack their bottom fishing technique.
and since i don't have any shrimps. i used T-BARS and Cheese.... sounds lame.
an hour passed, and as i was looking @ my car near the shore-side. I saw a Large Splash and the fish's Shadow.
Damn. i'm sure that's a Bull Trout.
Off goes my T-BAR +..... cheese. and down goes my spoon again. but didn't catch nothing.
i'm just having a bad day... i guess.
no soles.. and no trouts..
gloomy..

That's why it's called fishing and not catching.

As I mentioned in this previous thread: http://www.fishingwithrod.com/yabbse/index.php?topic=6354.0

Spoons and spinners will work, just takes time, fishing is slow this time of the year.
