Rice Lake
« on: April 24, 2006, 07:59:07 AM »

Hi, new member, first topic.

My son is five and I want to take him on his first fishing trip. I'm aiming for Rice Lake but don't want to see him get skunked on his first day. Anyone know if the lake has been stocked yet, of if not, when it will be?

Thanks

Welcome Chip. :)

I haven't received notices about Rice Lake, but phone the Fraser Valley Trout Hatchery at (604) 504-4709 and the staff there would be happy to give you an update.

You may also wish to try either Como Lake or Lafarge Lake. Como Lake is for anglers 16 or under and 65 or over, so less pressure.

If money is not an issue, you may also want to consider taking him to Sun Valley Trout Park.Address of Sun Valley Trout Park:

31395 Silverdale Ave,
Mission, British Columbia
Canada, V4S 1J7

Phone of Sun Valley Trout Park:

Rice Lake is being stocked today or tomorrow, with 1000 fish. Average size, 260g.
