My switch CP setup has more than 200 hours of use with mono including landing coho, socks, and springs. This does not include stealhead fishing where I use a slick shooter, which is also mono. There is no visible damage to the guides except the scares from all the bush whacking.

4The, does your rod have wire or ceramic insert guides? Certainly won't have a problem with ceramic.

Bottom two are ceramic the others are wire. I have replaced the tip once because on an encounter with a tree. I also let my son use it so it often does double duty. Today was an amazing day for him. 4 Summers on, 3 to hand. The biggest was 12 lbs. Sorry, but I am not allowed to post the pictures.  Anyway, I swear by this setup.
