Custom Waders Wanted
« on: October 06, 2013, 06:08:18 AM »

I am looking for a local (lower mainland) source for custom made chest waders. No luck finding anything in my size anywhere on the internet (all the links seem to lead back to bigcammo, who have been out of stock literally for years), was thinking of visiting some dive shops to see what I could get tailored in neoprene, but I thought I would tap into the ol' FwR brain trust to see if any of you know of a place I can go. Please, no fat jokes via the internet, I prefer to hear them in person  :-X. Cheers!

You might want to try looking on Cabelas site and check these out Cabela's Big Man Ultimate Hunting Waders.
Read the reviews, there are some pretty big dudes hauling the Big Man's on it might be cheaper then having some made.

I have been told that they will do custom fit breathables right here in Langley at the BARE factory.

I am thinking of heading over there to see if they make kids waders

For what it's worth, I would never buy Bare again....

I finally gave up on my pair after they leaked on the seams the 4th time out... this was the 4th pair I had (warrantied them 3 times!) They are hanging in a closet right now, as they have for the past 3 years, and will probably be made into rain pants...

My buddy just bought a brand new pair of their newest model this year, and his seams just blew out, freshwater fishing, on the 4th trip out as well.

So in short, don't spend money getting them to make you a custom wader. I'd go with Sea-tux as nicefish said, or try cabela's out.

Thanks Daniel. I already wear Cabelas high end breathables and this is my 2nd pair, been very happy with each. I will just check out what sizes they have for kids neo's and boots

3xl and 4xl are all fine and dandy if you are a giant.
Unfortunately some of us don't have the 5 ft long legs and size 14 shoes to fit into them.
I would give SeaTux a call and see if they can do something for you.
Was best waders I ever owned.

--any sea-tux dealer will have or can get sent via internet or fax their custom order measurement chart which even includes an outline of your foot size.
--sea-tux was the standard of the day when neo's were the fashion.
--I still have mine and use them this time of year or in colder water... can't remember how old they are and no problems.

Thanks gang, Cabela's have nothing in my size (16 eee boot!) so I think I will go with the full on neoprene sea tux. Cheers!

emailed simms they will do custom waders as in 4xl with 9-11 boot. call a tackle shop for a price just to compare to sea tux. imo neoprene will look funny on a big guy might even attract a few seals lol
