Wanted: 6501 c3 or other lefty baitcaster
« on: October 05, 2014, 09:47:00 AM »

As the title says, looking for a 6501 c3, can be just the frame and body, something with messed up internals, or good working lefty reel.
Let me know what you have
Thanks!

Bump, nobody have a leftyy baitcaster they want to get rid of?
Would settle for a right side plate off an 6501 c3

Do you have another left handed reel to trade. I have 2 6501s keep one as a back up. Might trade for a lighter left handed bait caster.

I have 2 6501s as well, my problem is the frame is hooped on one, and the right side plate was hooped on the other, idler post popped off, so 2 made one working reel.
looking for a backup or parts

I have looked into it.
The frame is pooched because the screws broke off inside the frame, I drilled them out and put new screws in, but the part where the screws go in split, and a new frame is 50.
As far as I know the post on the side cover that holds the idler gear on, is a press fit and cant be repaired, thats 30 bux for a new side cover, so to have two properly working reels would cost almost as much as a new one. :(
Thanks for the responses :)

Just keep your eyes peeled on ebay
I picked up a "used"  brand new no box 6501 for a lefty buddy of mine recently for $64.50 + $8.99 shipping.
It took me a few weeks to win an auction for him but they do come around, just not as often as the 6500

I just started Centerpinning this season, and my casting is less than impressive. I'm eager to keep going with it, so I can likely let go of my c3. If you're looking to use it just for backup parts, would you be oppose to buying it from me in a few weeks when I get more settled as a caster? I'm hesitant to give it up until I'm confident in my casting... I may need to bring both rods out in the future, lol.

Had a whole reply typed up, and crapped the bed before posting.
Throwin Plastic, thanks for the link, I have been keeping an eye on ebay, etc as well.
Most of the auctions lately for 30 or so more I can buy locally and save the hassle.
Preliator, please keep me posted when you decide your ready to sell, I have a good working reel, and a parts one right now, so I should be ok to wait a few weeks.
Thanks again guys
