breaking in the new reel

Had to christen the new reel today, rained pretty good but then the wind died off and rain slowed considerably. Switched to a Chernobyl/damsel thing i tied...Wham...didn't think it was that big at first but then it took the rod down and the fight was pretty sweet. Had to actually let it take some line a couple times to keep from breaking the 3 pound tippet...Pretty good sized for around Bellingham...

Nice fish. LOL, you must fish lots to justify spending such large amounts of $$$ on a reel. Only played with one of those once, we had two. Both sold within a day. I can only drool. ;D

No, not nearly enough for that...I already had a nice reel but thankfully the guys at M&Y let me trade it back in so the bite wasn't too horrible...One of those things where once i saw it and played with it for awhile i had to do some major guy reasoning to justify it..

  I hope you can bring a sample of that fly on Sat. I would like to see one up close. Big Flies = Big Fish.
