should keep it open august and September, close it the rest of the time.

all this will do is put more people in other areas and increase the chances of them closing

I was there a week ago and the river is still very high and fast . If you have a boat with power greater than a 9.9 you should be safe . maybe :o . Don't take chances if your a newbie cause it may turn ugly real fast . I'm sure there are a few Fraser river seasoned anglers on here with good horror stories  ;).

I wonder what our local SARS teams think about losing this launch that accesses a busy stretch of river?
I'm sure DFO, and all levels of government have thought about this considering the closest launch will now be Island 22 or Cheam fishing village, unless jesperson has been opened these are the only launches left from chilliwack to aggassiz unless you include Kilby on the Harrison. Sorry you can include barrow town too but not ideal for reaching someone in the gill rd area.

They could be provided with key or keys. There are many areas that have vehicle accessed blocked by gates but access can be provided in an emergency. I've seen both Police and Ambulances provided access on the dykes in Pitt Meadows.

Problem is they have put blocks on the back side of the gate from the photos I have seen. Same as Jesperson, blocks as a secondary blockade to the ramp.
Under the aggassiz bridge, same thing blocks.

That's pretty typical, otherwise the locks just get cut and the owner spends a lot of money replacing locks.  They can usually find a tractor quick to move said blocks in case of emergency.  Or if they have a beefed up bumper they might be able to bump one enough out of the way to get through.
