Pinks By The Millions In The Fraser River

I just received an email from FOC and it says the out migration of pink fry past Mission now stands at 400 million and rising daily.

The total average comes in around 45 million but the feeling is this year it will be above that. Of course the hope is the ocean survival rate improves and a good number will return in 2009.

why's that? ,
 we as anglers need the hope, the inshore commercial industry and guides need some good news. Now if the figures are right and the return is as you predict then this we should find out what went wrong and then do what we can to repair the damage.

Latest estimate I have been told is going to come in at 553 millions, 100 million above the average. ;D ;D

I am not sure of the exact way they come up with numbers but they use some sort of traps, I believe around the Mission area. They then use some scientfic formula to come up with the numbers they give out.

Someone else on the forum may be able to describe this more as I am just sharing information I have been given.
