Reel repair needed?

Any recommendations of places to go to get my fly reel fixed?

Hard to recommend a good shop with out knowing where you live and what the problem is.

Dave at Highwater tackle on the north shore is great.  I know several shops simply send your reel onto Mikes Reel repair and from what I have been told, thats like having your reel fall into a black hole...dave often fixes things on the spot (time and parts permitting).

Do not send it, but Take It to Mike's Reel Repair in Abbotsford.
The speed and quality of service is excellent.  :)Taking it to your local shop will really slow it down, unless it's done in-house, like Gooey says.

I agree that it takes Mike's forever to repair your reels if you bring it to a tackle shop. I brought one in for general maintenance earlier this year. Took 4 weeks to get it back. Not impressed.

i do clean and lubes and general (non warranty) repairs on newer abu's and have access to most parts. generally an overnight thing. if your reel is in need of serious repair, mike's or stryker can look after you. the problem with taking it to a shop who in turn takes it to mikes, slows things down because delivery from the shop to mike's generrally is done once a week and in winter every 2 weeks.

Hey Luckygirl!  I gave you that fly reel and I suggest you buck up and get a new one. It's not worth repairing. By the way what's for dinner tonite?  I hope its not Trout again.

Ya they took one look at it and said it wasn't worth fixing.... So ya Kisherking, what kind of junk did you give me...ha ha

I took your advice and "bucked up", bought a fenwick..... its beautiful.

And I am saving my trout for a special occasion.
