I crossed yesterday... scary! :P

If you decide to go ( I suggest waiting at least 1 more week)

Take 1st crossing where the trucks pass through to get to Boat launch bar.

Then go to far right point (away from river) and closest to parking lot and cross parallel to parking lot once across follow trail .

Water nearly waist high and fast and powerfull. I am 5'10"

I would not wear waders if you go down the waders could suck you under.

Use a wading stick.Face the current and shuffle your feet a little at a time. Keep calm.

A man drowned there last year I can see how.
Please be careful.

If you do manage to make it across, you can fish with at least 100+ people on the other side, I looked at it this afternoon and it was insane!!! Glad I got another bar to fish  ;D

100+ is not bad compared to the 200 or 300+ that's usually there. At least there aren't any dirt bikes, ATVs, campers and the drunkards now. You can cross it with care but don't wear waders as others had already mentioned.

Out there tonight easy to cross it seems as saw number of people crossing both channels but I would be careful doing it in the dark.

The sad part was, I saw many driving across the wetted area in vehicles as well, also so much garbage not only at this area but others popular spots also. It seems this fishery brings out the worse in some people and it breaks my heart to see such disregard for our environment. :'( :(

A group of us went to Peg Leg last year during the gong show and did a cleanup. We got almost a truckfull of just fishing line. We also pulled up a TON of garbage. You do not find this with the barfishermen. Why is it that the sockeye season brings out the pigs?

Sockeye season brings out the lowest of the low, the  kind of hillbilly people you see in the film Deliverance.

It shouldnt matter if they fish 200 days of the year or 2 days a year. Its not about that. Do they do the same thing in a public park? Do they keep their houses the same way. I have always lived by the rule treat peoples stuff better than you treat your own. That would be the same thing if I went somewhere. If you keep your house spotless keep your fishing area the same or even better. If everyone just cleaned up after themselves their would be no issue.
