Lafarge Lake, June 14th 2012
« on: June 14, 2012, 10:18:54 PM »

I ventured down there for a couple of hours before dark tonight to get some fishing in before it gets swarmed at this Saturday's event. ;) The lake is plugged with fish right now, as it was stocked once in late May and will be stocked again tomorrow. Fishing pressure is low, as many seem to think there are no fish in it (comments that I gathered from conversations with people who walked by).

With a tub of cured krill and a light float setup, it made for a pretty awesome evening of trout fishing. Among the 20 or so fish brought in, there were two little coho salmon that took me by surprise. The fluffy cottonwood deposits on the water surface have been bit of a nuisance, but you just gotta work around them. I stayed until 20 minutes ago when I finally couldn't see the float. ;D

Have a great BC Family Fishing Weekend, introduce it to a friend or family member. :)

nice to hear you got into some fish Rodney

I was there helping out at the Family fishing weekend
it rained most of the time but it did not stop the crowds
The fishing for the kids (netted off area) was good at first but slowed down and we all had to work hard to get the kids into a fish
there were some great pictures taken by a local paper (hope to see them posted)
This is always a great day out and Cam and his crew do a great job setting up and running this event
some great give aways at the end of the event ;D

There were a lot of fish stocked the day before so get your selves down there for some good fishing ;)

Yeah I was watching you missing all the bites in the netted area!! ;D ;D I didn't want to interrupt and make you lose your focus. ;) The turnout was excellent despite of the rain for sure.

I was down there for an hour this evening, fishing was pretty hot. :)

Nope, they definitely did not look like smolts or rearing juveniles, but landlocked adults. I caught two more of those tonight actually.

Don't ask me. I think the snakehead gave them a map and told them to go there.
