A Mix Sep. 23/06
« on: September 23, 2006, 06:12:43 PM »

Well Young Gun, Barbless and I decided to hit a local flow for some chum, springs and some early coho. Young Gun and Barbless were on the river 20mins. earlier than me. As soon as im puting my rod together, a chum splashes and shows itself. The water was running low, but up a bit, and a cloudy look to it so we could not see what was beneath the depths. In about 10 casts, the float goes down and im fighting a chum. After after about 7 seconds the hook slips out. All of our floats are bobbing up and down every cast because of the sculpins eating our roe. They were darn annoying. Anywho, we decide to go fish a few other spots down river, but are just to low fish, so were move back up to where we started.

Not too long after we get back to our first spot, my float takes a dive down hard, set the hook, and a bunch of headshakes and im in to what i believe is a coho. Couldnt see because the the water clarity sorta sucked. Another 7 second fight and it popped out. I know it wasnt a chum, or big spring. Could have been a jack spring, or a coho, or even possibly a dolly. After that i hook and land a big male chum, in not to bad of condition. I've never seen a chum hit roe so hard. It literally inhaled it. Within the next hour i got another about the same, but just a bit bigger. Not too long after that fish, i hooked what i think was a spring because it just sayed deep and barely moved, then took of up river and the hook popped out.

After a while of no fish, Barbless hooked and lost one.

I then left not too long after that. I believe Young Gun got a chum after i left

Tight Lines,
Coho Cody ;)

I wouldn't. cuz i was fishing the same hole you were with him yesterday.

Stupid friends wouldn't leave me alone last night. Didn't get to bed until 2:30, which ruined my chances of getting to the vedder for first light. I'm thinking of heading to the stave on the fly.

Got one after cody and younggun left. And younggun you left your tub of roe on the shore, which i picked up. Please don't litter.
