Stocked lake
« on: April 04, 2014, 07:24:33 PM »

Fished the local stocked lake today.  Went out around 1:30pm. The weather was cloudy with the sun peeking out once in awhile. Southeater blowing 15clicks with gusts up to 25clicks. Good thing it didn't last long and finally settled down around 2:30pm. Took the fish half an hour to turn on. They are not big. A big one would be around 16''. Had a fair amount of bites and had to fend off the local eagle who likes to steal your trout if given the chance. I kept 4 between  10 and 12 inches. With the weather warming up next week the fishing should improve immenesly. Used hardware today. Will be switching over to flies next week.
Couple of old timers live in the trailer park and I am happy to give them a feed of trout.
Had the lake to myself today other than some shore fisherman. This won't last long though,I heard they put a batch of keepers in the lake on Wedns.
