May Long fishing/camping ideas?
« on: May 13, 2014, 11:33:11 AM »

Hi everyone,

well we're close to the May long weekend, and for some reason, I just can't think of where I want to go for the long weekend. I am hoping the FWR community can help me brainstorm!

parameters:
GOOD FISHING!
I have a canoe
destination within 5 hours
it looks like we might be getting rain, so lower precipitation areas might be better.

some areas I am considering:
Lillooet / Lytton area
Manning park
Merrit area

I would like a more picturesque area, as I am taking friends and the old lady with me.

Any ideas / favorite places?

All the best,
Andrew

Birkenhead? Very scenic, nice lake, lots of fish. Might be packed on a long weekend though.

There are literally hundreds of good places in the Kamloops region.  That might be at the outer limits of your 5 hour range, but it is semi-arid so in theory that should mead less rain.

You could check out Heffley Lake, Campbell Lake, Amphitheater lake, Douglas...  I'll be at Niskonlith myself, which is not far from Adams and Skmana, which should all be good right now.
