rolled muddlers

wanted to tie some for cutthrouts and dollies any favourite colour patterns other that the usual natural pattern cheers and thanks for the help.with this

Mickey Muddlers

Red mallard flank tail and underwing, yellow deer hair win and head.
Slays coho as well.

Sounds interesting....could you say it works as well or better than a sparse mickey finn?  I may have to tie up a few.

olive for cutties. Blue for coho. A favourite variation is a tie the body with gold braid.

I think ED has it pretty spot on seeing as he chases island cutts ALOT and even gets them while salmon fishing  ;D


So ED when should i come visit you at college ??  i mean come do some fishing. those smaller flows in your pics look like a fishermans paradise

Yep I chase a lotta cutties all right.
Biggest this year was around 24 inches long.
I have one fly that absolutely slays.

Personally I would never target them with muddlers.
There are much better flies around then that.

And I dunno James. Whenever you want. Coho will be gone though once the next rain hits.

Thanks.    That first fly looks like a fish catcher to me.   Going to have to find the right kind of peacock feathers.

The 2nd fly is by far the best fly (although I use to use the 1st one as a searching pattern on new rivers, the 2nd one is now).
I was getting a tonne of cutties 18-24 inches on it this year on the island. Coho, Springs and Pinks also liked it a lot.
The little cutties and rainbows also really liked it, pretty much if a fish is around you'll probably catch it on that one.

I believe the feathers are called gold body feathers.
Sold in little bags with around 20 feathers in them.
