Fraser River Pinks
« on: August 08, 2005, 09:51:45 PM »

I noticed that pinks are starting to be caught at most of the bars.  I do not have a regulation booklet handy. Can someone check if they are retainable now?

Region 2 freshwater salmon regulations, scroll down to Fraser River section. Retention for pink salmon is currently closed. Openings have been discussed, and should be announced soon. Tidal Fraser River is already opened for retention of pink salmon.

No they are not, all that is retainable for salmon currently is Chinook at 4 per day and no more then 1 over 50cm in the non-tidal Fraser River.

For future reference please check this link:http://www-ops2.pac.dfo-mpo.gc.ca/xnet/content/fns/index.cfm?pg=search_results&lang=en&ID=recreational&Year=2005
It provides regulation changes, openings and closures etc for both tidal and non-tidal waters.

For Salmon retention info on all rivers in Region 2 please check this link:http://www.pac.dfo-mpo.gc.ca/recfish/Freshwater/region2_e.htm
