Chrome Mykiss, would you like another one of those liquid foam floats for your collection ? I have one of the "fat" floats which was designed for use on the Thompson and a slimmer version (4") for the local rivers. PM me your name and address if interested.

I've been fishing cork floats for a while now, shaping them on my rod building lathe, roughly in the shape of a drennan. tough to find reasonably priced solid cork for this job so i have been using undrilled rodbuilding cork rings and epoxy and setting them in a press till they set, still with the cost of the cork they are nearly 10$$ floats, but they fish sooooo well.
i also use a float from a guy in new york for smaller flows like suicide or capilano, they are balsa, top notch floats, is what they are called... love em and have made a few of my own now.

Anyone know of a source of Balsa large enough for turning floats? Windsor Plywood sells some but price is = gold.

I was in Bob's today, and I'm pretty sure he still has those floats.

Did you buy floats or balsa from e-bay?

Yes, they are pretty good floats. I don't think he makes them anymore.
