You must be extremely patient to wait til December to give them a call. I would have been harassing them if I didn't hear back in a couple of weeks.

CohoKID, many pinners on the east coast use braid.  "its like rope", well 20lb braind has the diameter of 4lb mono.  Do you know you can cast a center pin like a spin real with braid (you hold the line out to the side of your reel and it just spools off).  They cast a country mile with a few tiny little split shot in these small creeks...its only possible with braid as it doesnt twist up like mono and with 4lb diameter and no memory, its easier to cast.

I am trying braid for steelhead this year...30 power pro.  It has the diameter of 6lb mono.  I fish a drennan on the power pro, below that I fish 3 feet or so of 12 lb mono which has 3-4 split shot on it.  To that I attach leaders of 6-10 lbs.  All I can tell you is it cast sooo smoothly, the line doenst sink in the water so long casts are easy to mend/manage, I have never lost a drennan like this,  etc, etc.

It will be interesting to see how it fishes this season for steelhead.  All I can tell you is I had a good coho season when lots of other people were getting skunked.

I tried the same thing this year! I was able to utilize the many advantages of braid with the stealth of mono.

I've been using the Tuff XP on my baitcaster and have no problem with it causing grooves on my rod guides.

I c , but i find it wierd with a pin and braided. I unno about that stuff, 30lbs test for steelhead, no offence to anyone, doesnt sound sporting to me. but thats my opionon and dont get me wrong im a kid so i may be wrong. I just dont like braided and thats my style. And so lets get back to the main piont, what new rod does fenwick have out i checked there site and it still says hmx.
