This has been an unusual fall/winter here as far as steelheading goes. We actually hit a rather nice run of freshies in
mid-November, a tad early methinks! Only been out 4 times thus far, and have shook hands with 23 winters thus far (lost track of the summers). Only 4 trips due to the hunting season preoccupying my every thought. But that ended last Sunday before 9:00 am for me, and so, I've switched over to the fishing hat once again. Weather here certainly has been
HORRID for that of late! That huge snowfall sat around for better than a week, and now, with all the sky water and heavy winds, has filled all the creeks and rivers beyond capacity. The Stamp herself was a
HUGE brown firehose yesterday, and of course is continuing to swell even farther into the timber with last night's (and today's and tomorrow's) rains. Likley be a bit of a spell before she's workable again, but just as likely this high water will bring yet more a-running! Very much looking forward to checking that out!
Hope the early numbers bodes well for the balance of the season. If so, should be quite the banner year!!
