Bad idea, half your eggs will explode before your roe sacs hit the water, the other half won't last 5 casts.  Too much time and effort to attempt this, and its the wrong type curing method for the eggs.   Blue fox' slay coho, so does most decent hardware..

You're tying the mesh too tight then. It's only there to hold everything together so it lasts longer and the current doesn't rip it apart. I've never had a problem doing this in the past when I've been short on roe.

Honestly I've had tough luck with roe bags, chunks outfish them for me easily.

I agree, I haven't had much luck with bags but gobs of roe work good for me.
