December 10th, 2005: More on the Proposed
SARA Listing of Interior Coho
From Fisheries and Oceans Canada:
Please be advised that Interior Fraser River coho salmon have been
proposed for listing under the Species At Risk Act (SARA) and will
be added to the Canada
Gazette on December 10, 2005.
If the Interior Fraser River coho are listed under SARA, these
fish stocks will be legally protected and a recovery plan will be
invoked.
There is a 30-day period following publication in the Canada Gazette
for receiving comments and concerns regarding the proposed listing.
Your comments and concerns on this matter are vital to the consultation
process and to future regulations and are requested within the 30-day
period following December 10.

Comments may be received through this web-site following the December
10 Canada Gazette listing.
