Kettle River Flies

(1/1)

Dylb:
Hey everyone,

Will be spending a morning or two on the kettle river near rock creek over the next week.

Not sure what water levels are like there right now, but I will be bringing my fly gear to hopefully give it a go.

Planning to throw whatever I've got in the fly case but some help knowing where to start would be appreciated! Can't find an awful lot on the forum, but sounds like dry flies would be best? Tom thumbs and the like.

Cheers

RalphH:
The river will still be in freshet somewhat turbid and the water cool. Day time high temps are likely below what brings on good hatches. Take some big weighted nymphs and wooly buggers. Fish close to shore. Never fished that section but just east of Rock Creek the rivers crosses the highway by the gold course. Some good looking water there. Also upstream of Rock Creek.
