Even smoking 50 pinks is allot of smoked fish. I have kept 20-25 cant remember exactly. I wouldnt keep anymore than that as I need the room in my freezer for other foods not just fish. Also I plan on keeping some coho, some chum and a few springs so I dont want to use up all my smoking fish just on one species. Coho will be turned into lox the chum and springs for smoking. Also I smoke fish to give away at Christmas as they do make great gifts for my relatives and friends. I can fit about 10-12 pinks in my 6 rack digital Bradley. So if you kept 50 fish and have anything smaller than the 6 rack thats going to take you a very long time smoking fish. LOL

You can also make fish cakes and other very good meals from pinks and freeze em. You don't have to smoke em all.

I have a 4 rack Bradley that I converted into an 8 rack by purchasing 4 jerky racks and inserting them upside down ontop of the others. I can smoke a lot more fish at a time this way.  ;D

Of course it takes a wee bit longer due to the amount of fish and rotating the racks takes a bit more skill so that you don't accidentally lose a piece or two. ;D

With the warm weather I've just been doing them in my little chief (I also have a Bradley).  The little chief is quicker to set up and I can do 3 pinks at a time.  If you cut them into strips, it only takes 4 to 5 hours.

I haven't landed anything in a little while now...but I've hooked into something every time I've gone out from last Saturday until Wednesday...so there's still fish around, just nothing like it was a week or two ago...bring on the Coho & Chum!

Yeup! Looks like end of pink season at lower. Bring on the coho, whities and chum.  :)  Time for some green/silver spoons.

Whonnock test fishery is getting next to nothing as well in the way of pinks so its more or less wrapped up.  A good pink season overall though.

I gave 2 fish to my parent and they made yummy fish cakes.  Just the thought of gutting, cleaning, prepping 50 fish scares me.  Mind you, I am still new at gutting and cleaning fish so I will take twice as long as others.

Sure didn't seem like 17 million fish... Does anybody know how many the commercials intercepted before we even got to see em.
