Here's a site to check out for snow levels-  http://www.env.gov.bc.ca/rfc/river_forecast/bulletin.htm    Looks to me like there is still plenty of snow yet to melt.
Yes.
Overall snow conditions as of June 1st are:

Well above normal in the Skeena, Nass, Liard, Stikine (140+ %)
Above normal in the Upper Fraser, Nechako (130+%) Below normal in the North Thompson and South Thompson (80-90%)
Below normal in the Mid and Lower Fraser (70-80%)
Below normal in the Kootenay, Columbia (70-80%)
Below normal in the Okanagan, Kettle, Similkameen (70-80%)
Below normal on Vancouver Island and the South Coast (50-60%)
Significant mid and high elevation snow remains to melt throughout the northern half of the province.

Thanks for the info, i stand corrected on the snowpack levels. I had seen the mid-lower fraser levels but not the upper fraser, nechako. Here to hoping it still clears up in reasonable time.

I'm curious why Fisheries states they will give an update on the 8th yet here we are on the 9th with still no word.  Of course I suppose it doesn't matter too much since it won't open regardless until the 16th.  Hopefully they don't put a size restriction on the fisheries until August 1.  I noticed on the First Nations Catch Report Web Page they caught almost 1,100 Springs just on June 7th.  Even if they open the sportsman on the 16th I wonder how many at most we will get per day?

The 1100 caught by first nations was for the week, not just in one day.

When the river drops as it will be too dirty for bar fishing for a bit yet and I hate all the bugs out there at this time of year wanting to drain a few ounces of blood from you.
