Vancouver Harbour Canada Day
« on: July 07, 2004, 12:50:56 PM »

Hey Trophy

After your encouraging words ( and a brief trout mission) I was back at it on Canada Day.

NO cupcakes right off the beach at Jerico AT LEAST a 25lber!!!!! On the bottom, in about 70' near the freighters on a small green/glow gypsy WOOHOO!!

Radioed my brother, we dropped the hook off Kits and with 20 other guests fired up the barbie. By all accounts the best salmon anyone had eaten.

Summer is here!!

Where along Jericho were you? Sounds like you were right in front of the RVYC?

Pretty much. There is a shelf where it drops from 65' - 75' in a line from RVYC  to Ambleside, just outside the freighter markers. About 1/2 way a small area drops to 95', you can sorta tell by the way the current circles.

Great for me as I was fishing out of a sailboat, this is really close too my marina.

I hear in years past, this was the old timers hot-spot. Maybe because of the improved runs in the Squamish, and Vedder et all, this is coming back??

Who knew??

Were you fishing downriggers off your sailboat?
