Nope, I've not tried off the entrance to Deep Cove. I set around the back side of Racoon island for 24 hours (300' of water) and I set on the north shore just east of Best point (280') for about a 1/2 day...nuthin.
Although...I'm not convinced the first set was an actual skunk. There was a boat near my trap when I headed over to retrieve it and he scampered away pretty fast as I got closer. I can't help wonder if he lifted my trap.
Sounds like I should try the entrance to the cove huh? It's shallower there so I assume this means spotted prawns? I've also been told I should set at a fresh water outfall (creek/spring entrance). Haven't tried that yet but I plan on it.
I know that we kept the traps down a full 24 hours in the Powell River region (at 300' depth) and this is on the advice of some very good commercial prawners. And it works! I asusmed I should do the same thing in the arm, but maybe I don't have to leave the traps down that long. Thoughs/advice appreciated.
