100 % of this money should be used for Creek restoration and/ or fish enhancement.

None of this money should be used for bonus to city administrators or xmas staff parties....

exactly my thought when reading this. How much of this money will really go to help the fish? I think our government does a crap job of managing money...

The article does say this…” The fines will be directed to the Government of Canada's Environmental Damages Fund and the money will be used to support projects that have a positive impact on the environment“

they will get the money back, they are the ones building the pipeline for our government

the reason why the fine was so high is its sometimes based on the size of the company, like %revenue, assets, book value ect..

could not find how big the company is but it says it has over 8 thousand employees.
