I was wondering if Pinks will be open this year. So far the regulations don't say anything for Pinks in the Chilliwack/Vedder river which means as I recall that 'zero' can be kept.

Should be open - it is usually open on the Vedder even in low return years.

Since the mid-1990s it has been closed to retention of pinks the majority of years. It was closed to retention in 2017 and should be the same this year. On the upside, in years of giant returns they would get in the way of fishing for springs and coho, like the giant schools of chum did in the 1990s. Shouldn't be a problem this year.

I guess it has been a while since I checked on retention of pinks on the Vedder.
Never really targeted them but saw tons of ugly ones while fishing for Coho in previous years.

My dad kept a chrome one some years ago. The meat was so pale, it wasn't far from the white spring he kept. Never again.
