Hi guys its me again..  Because of last night beach party, i have a hard time wake up 5 am this morning...   Well today we just clean up some boats, tested some engins.... After dinner, i went out for couple hours of fishing. Because of flood tide, i  went back to Cohoe point.  Today, we fished 4 rods, one at 30 pulls, 22, 15 and 12.  Get the long story short, my buddy got a hit about 5 min he dropped his bait.. but he missed the fish. Soon after he reel back just about he start to cut another herring, he yelled: " Marco, fish on!!!!!" i turn around, my TFO 4120 bend all the way to the water the followed with a long, fast scream from the TFO Pacific mooching reel.  Becasue the fish is pulling so hard, i had a hard time pull out the rod.  Finally, i got the rod out and start frighting the fish.  Fish leaped out the water twice followed with a deep dive over 50 feet of line...  Well i landed the fish 5 minute later and its a 12 pounder keeper for dinner....   Be fishing for sure tomorrow morning @ 5:00.

Well Captain Bonk, Are you Gary Bonk ?? Owner of " Gone fishing" @ maple Ridge?? If So, Mike says hi and he told me some story about you...

Good morning people, just a quick report before i head out.  Yesterday morning was a slow morning, only got one hook up and landed to the boat. And last night as usual, i went out with 2 girls after dinner that never fish before and get them into their first fish- Langara Chinook salmon.  Well ther will be a detailed report little later during the day.

Cohoe point been red hot last few days during tide change.  The east side of Island, Burine Bay, Genia point and Machen reefs been producing during flood tides.

Anwway, its time to go, talk to you all later!!

Steelhead king, I've been to Langara before but not for a few years, and I will be going again this summer.

Just wondering about the communications and email access. Last time I was there they just had one phone to be shared by all guests. Not sure what they had for staff. I kind of liked the lack of phones as I never thought much about calling home anyway ;) Do they have any sort of interent connection for guests now?

Another Report... Went off fishing @ 5 am..  hit the same spot, Cohoe point; Fish slammed on the bait soon after i set up my 4th rod.  My buddy went set the hook but got striped and that was it for the morning.  Again after dinner, i went out with the same girls i was with last night. Was going to bring them halibut fishing, but wind suddenly picked up... So we decided to do some salmon instead. got them into one spring maybe 15lb but hook poped out.. Beside a few sea bass and and few nipple, thats all for the day....   Anyway, its time for day.. talk to you all later.

Hey guys, here we go again.. Today report at Langara is pretty bad.  From last night to now, there are only 9 fish weighted in and the biggest is 31.5lb.  The Weather forcast for the next two days will more likely the same; gail force warning, blowing NW 30-40 til later this week.  That make fidhing really tought. As we speak right now, there are 2-3 feet rollers crashing right to the Barge.  Don't even mention what happen out there.  Now there are many guest back to the lodge from sea sick but also some die-hard angler still fishing out there. From the report, many bait show up at Little cohoe and cohoe point; and odd fish beiing caught...

Hi guys, haven't talk to you all for a few days now just because i'm busy at work, getting ready for the Fishing Derby- 14th Anual Haida Gwaii $100,000 cash Derby.  The Derby started yesterday and the leader is sitting with a 36lb chinook, measured and tagged then release.  Now back to my fishing report, As usual i went out first thing this morning with my friend Natalie.  We started off at Cohoe point and worked toward Andrews with the tide. About an hour into fishing, we hooked one but lost it shortly after. Then about 15 min later, i  finally hooked into a nice size fish. Then i quickly pass the rod off to Nat. for about 5 minute, with high speed, deep diving run the fish is about for netting. At the same time, one of the weight master boat from the derby passed by and helped us to net the fish. Then then measuered out, tagged before release. It endded up to be a Spring just shy of 20lb.   Well tomorrow is my first offical day off, so i will be out fishing most of the day and i will post the report later on. And i will try my very best to load the pictures up and post it for you guys. At the mean time, hope everyone have a great fishing weekend...

Cheers

Marco @ Langara.
