Thank you to all who replied with insight and tips to my "Stumped" message. I am planning an outing later this week so I'll be sure to post a report. One more thing I forgot to mention last time was that not only have I lost a lot of gear which is to be expected, but also a leatherman wave on a gravel bar just above the crossing bridge. I know it is a shot in the dark but it has sentimental value to me and if found a reward would be gratefully given. Thanks again and good luck to all.

Sorry to hear about your Leatherman Wave. I have one and it's an awesome tool
