The Steveston Judo Club had their annual tournament on Feb 25, 2006 and there were competitors there from across Canada and the US as well as Tokai University, Japan. There was some excellent judo to behold!
I have captured some of the tournament, but of course with 4 mats going simultaneously there were quite a few moments when you turned just AFTER the action!
All the pictures were taken at ISO 1600 on a Canon Digital Rebel D300. Post processed for levels and noise in PS CS2.

It's tough with that lighting!

Very impressive DS!
Even after processing it is easy to see that your noise levels were not that bad for ISO 1600.
You obviously managed to keep your shutter speed high enough to do the job.
What lens did you use?
Not a chance I could get that kind of results with my Lumix FZ30.
Well done!

The pictures were taken either with a 75-300mm 4-5.6 or 18-55mm 4-5.6 shutter speed 1/200th.
Many times I wish I had something in the 50-75 range though. (ain't it always the case?)
