What is the biggest fish that you ever caught how big was it. my biggest was a 6 or seven pound coho. I got up at the coquitlam river.
-
Well so far, my biggest is a Sturgeon, about 7-8 feet, and well over 200 lbs. But for salmon it is a chinook that was in the 60's!! :)

My gosh, topics like this always bring out the so-called ego maniacs of FWR! ;D ;D ;D
Anyone can catch a big fish, the challenge really exists when you try to catch something like this (http://www.fishingwithrod.com/albums/album34/flounder.jpg). ;)

You're right Rodney, that takes talent. I'm pretty sure that Bwi Bwi had you beat though, we didn't get pics of that day, but they were Sculpins, maybe 2 or 3". Hit hard though and put up a good fight!! :o ;D ;D

-
wow....my biggest is a 6ft sturgeon caught on the fraser
-
38lb red spring
-
05/24/95 white sturgeon from the mouth of the harrison river never got a weight on it but took measurements and they were 129 inches long 58.5 inches wide, you do the math. just under 2 hours on the rod. the fish went into the fraser and back into the harrison 3 times before we finally beached and released it just above island 22
that would have been pretty heavy then
-
Last year I caught a big white spring on the Vedder - it was in the 40's. But bigger, but much less fun was the roughly 400lb Port Beagle I caught while deep water fishing off Guernsey in the Channel Islands. That sucker was a monster, and took careful attention to release while keeping all digits attached. Amazing creature.

Wow, Nog, some fishing excursions and out-of-the-world fishing experiences. Congratulation! That blue-fin must be worth a fortune for the Japanese sushi market. :D Are they quite rare this far up in the Pacific?
-
Aren't bluefins found off the Atlantic Coast ?
-
Caught the BlueFin while taking a day off from a Coastal Zone Management Conference in Nova Scotia over a decade ago. Cool boats, at least that day a fairly flat pond, and one MEAN rush chasing those things! That fish was sold commercially, as was the deal with the Skip. And it did indeed fly off to the Japanese market the next day (so we were informed anyway). We did get to carry off a few steaks though, and they were great! And the memories of that battle are something I'll carry to the grave.
The rest were generally targetted results, and most required dozens if not hundreds of outings. 'Course I don't really mind the task ;) :D
Cheers,
Nog

Nope:
Golden Trout
Alberta's Golden Trout Management Plan was completed in 1995 for this 'species of special concern.' Alberta is the only Canadian province with golden trout. The species was first introduced in 1959 from its native alpine lakes in California. The plan is being implemented to conserve this unique species and at the same time provide some special fishing opportunities by way of restrictive angling regulations.
