Very interesting. Thanks for posting.
I bookmarked this site and will follow subsequent reports.
Why is Georgia Straight causing such a large mortality rate in the coho? Increased surveylance in the future will hopefully help draw a definitive conclusion.

The POST program has shown some good success at this early stage. Plans are being carried out to expand it to other species as well. The use of POST for white sturgeon has also been brought up, as what really goes on beyond the Fraser River is still pretty mysterious.

The green sturgeon detection was a surprising one as those fish were tagged years ago before the establishment of this program.

Last year there was a very good presentation of POST presented by DFO at the Fraser Valley Boat and Sportsmen's Show (http://www.reel-shows.com/). I'll know in a few weeks from now if another presentation will be made at next year's show.

It would be interesting to see the route they take back to the rivers they came from. Like in real time so you know when to step out the door to go fishing 8)
