Fisheries and Oceans Canada is soliciting proposals for contract observer Services in the Fraser River. There will be two contracts - one for the area below Mission and one for the area above.
The successful candidates will report on fishing activity, collect and provide catch statistics and act as a liaison between Fisheries and Oceans Canada, First Nations, recreational fishers, and commercial fishers. This work will be carried out as independently as possible.
Interested applicants should sign on to the MERX contracting system (http://www.merx.com) and look under services/Natural Resources Services. Applications must be received via MERX by December 15, 2005.
